Most travellers to Nepal venture with the goal of accomplishing an unparalleled trek up the mountainous regions during their stay. The Poon Hill Trek, also known as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek, offers visitors the perfect lookout point where you can view the sunrise over the famous Annapurna Range — one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world. The cherry on top? It's a beginner-friendly route that can be completed by people from all walks of life, and within a short timespan of approximately 4 days. You don't have to worry about altitude sickness too, as the hill stands at a relatively lower altitude of 3,210m!
Being a popular vantage point, you will be able to spot other mountains in the region, including the Annapurna South (7,219m) and Machapuchare (6,993m), amongst many other tall peaks. The breathtaking combination of Himalayan mountains and the pristine scenery of rhododendron forests is sure to leave you captivated and wanting for more. If you happen to trek during Spring, you will have the chance to catch sight of flowers in full bloom too.

Along your trek up Poon Hill, you are likely to come across several tea houses dispersed throughout the route. These tea houses are small hotels known as Bhatti. In recent years, many of them have opened their doors along trekking routes in Nepal, as the activity gains popularity amongst visitors. Bask in Nepalese hospitality when you check into one of these tea houses as you will find yourself with comfortable lodging to rest for the night, and even home-cooked meals, hot water and WiFi access. Most of these tea houses are family-run too, so you will be supporting local businesses by using such services along your trek.
